Goo Goo Cluster Shop
Have you ever tried an iconic Goo Goo Cluster? Now’s your chance! Invented in 1912, this American Candy bar was created right here in Nashville by Howell Campbell and the Standard Company. The original disk-shaped candy bar contained marshmallow nougat, caramel, and roasted peanuts covered in milk chocolate, but there are several new and limited edition flavors—like peanut butter. Delicious!
The flagship Goo Goo Shop is paradise for anyone with a sweet tooth. In addition to the iconic Goo Goo Cluster candies, you can shop branded items, Nashville-themed gifts, and feast your eyes upon Premium Goo Goos being made by hand in a glass encased confectionery kitchen. Take a seat at the dessert bar and indulge in an ice cream sundae with Goo Goo clusters sprinkled on top. The menu also includes ice cream cones, milkshakes, and more. You can also sign up for chocolate classes and learn to make your very own Goo Goo Cluster. Check out their website for more details.
Try out the photo wall with photo props and signs to make the perfect family memories. And grab a few Goo Goo Clusters to go for sustenance through the final part of the tour. Show the person at the check out counter that you are on Nashville Sites’s Family Fun tour and receive a 15% discount off all purchases. Also feel free to post your picture in front of the GooGoo wall to social media using the handles @NashvilleSites and @GooGooClusters.
Fun Fact: While it hasn’t been confirmed, word on the street seems to support that “Goo” stands for Grand Ole Opry. The scramble letter for this stop is “S” for Stands for Grand Ole Opry.
Exit the GooGoo Shop and turn LEFT, headed back up Third Avenue. Take a LEFT at the entrance of the John Seigenthaler Pedestrian Bridge. Stop on the left-hand side of the entrance once you see the plaque that was placed on the bridge and talks about John Seigenthaler, the man for whom the bridge was renamed in 2014.
