(Optional) Bicentennial Mall and TN State Museum
Congratulations! You’ve completed the Women’s History Highlights Tour on Nashville Sites. We hope you have enjoyed seeing the sites and learning about the lives of some of our city’s most influential women. Nashville has a proud history of women who have led in many ways—as pioneers, businesswomen, social reformers, politicians, artists, and educators.
We have included an optional stop, if you are up for a scenic 15-minute walk. If so, from James Robertson Parkway, walk towards the Bicentennial Capitol Mall State Park. The mall has many other features that note the importance of women in our state, including a detailed timeline that runs the length of the park. At the north end of the park, on your left, is the Tennessee State Museum. Opening in 2018 at the corner of Rosa Parks Blvd. and Jefferson Street, the museum also features exhibits that highlight the lives of women in Tennessee. Admission is free.
