Goo Goo Shop and Dessert Bar

Description

Founded in 1901, Anchor Candy Company was later reorganized and renamed Standard Candy Company. Under the Standard name, founder Howell H. Campbell Sr. produced the world's first combination candy bar in 1912, featuring caramel, marshmallow nougat, peanuts and milk chocolate. Standard boosted the Goo Goo Candy Cluster's popularity with a strategic sponsorship of the famous Grand Ole Opry. With a change in ownership in the 1980s came a major expansion in market, with Goo Goo Clusters being sold in areas ranging from Mexico to China. Opening their downtown location in January 2015, Nashville's Goo Goo Shop added a milkshake and dessert bar in 2016.
