Description

The Station Inn was opened in 1974 by a group of bluegrass singers and pickers-singers including Red Smith, Bird Lee Smith, Jim Bornstein (1932-2018), Bob Fowler, Charmaine Lanham, Marty Lanham and Ingrid Fowler. A mere four years later, the Station Inn moved to the location on Twelfth Avenue South. Since being purchased by JT Gray in 1981, the club has become known in the bluegrass scene as a modest venue at which the community can gather, attracting artists like Ricky Skaggs (1954-), Dolly Parton (1946-) and Reba McEntire (1955-).
