Description
The 28-story tall headquarters of First American Bank, called First American Center, opened at 315 Deaderick Street on July 20, 1973. During construction in 1971, the remains of a prehistoric saber-toothed tiger were found in a cave. This find would later serve as the inspiration of the mascot of the Nashville Predators, an NHL hockey team. American National Bank was founded in Nashville in 1883 merged with Fourth and First National Bank in 1930 to become First American National Bank. The bank later merged with AmSouth Bank and then Regions Bank, and the building was renamed Regions Center. Regions Bank moved in 2013 and began leasing much of the building to UBS (formerly Union Bank of Switzerland).
